Sergios Theodoridis, First Vice-President
Sergios Theodoridis is Professor Emeritus of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Distinguished Professor of Machine Learning of Aalborg University, Denmark. He has served in the past as a member of the Board of Governors of COSMOTE, the Greek Mobile phone operator, Vice President of the Greek Pedagogical Institute, Chair of the Advisory Board of the Edinburg Research Partnership (ERP), President of the European Society of Signal Processing (EURASIP) and he currently serves as Vice-President of the Signal Processing Society (SPS) of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE). He is the author of three books in English and three books in Greek. He has extensively published in the major journals and international conferences in his research areas. Seven of his published research papers have received Best Paper Awards. For his research and education contributions, he has received three prestigious awards, the EURASIP Athanasios Papoulis Award, the IEEE SPS Education Award and the EURASIP Meritorious Service Award. He is corresponding member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE), Life Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of EURASIP.
Makis Chatzoulas, Second Vice-President
Born in Athens in 1981. Graduate of the Department of Business Administration, with a Masters in Applied Mathematical Economics. He runs one of the largest clothing companies in Greece with rich export activity.
Eva Abazi
Eva is an architect. Since 2001, she has been developing a network of collaborators in studies and construction of projects oriented in environmental design. She has been a founding member of the non-profit organization, ‘’Architecture san Frontieres’’ in Greece, member of the international network ‘’Architecture san Frontieres- International’’.
Ioannis Katsaros, Secretary
Dr. Yannis Katsaros holds a BA in Economics from the University of Athens, an MA in Social Policy from Panteion University while havingalso studied pedagogy at Marasleios School. He also holds a PhD in Education Management from the Department of Public Administration of the Panteion University of Athens. He serves as Education & School Consultant with the Greek System of National Education. He is a board member of the Society for Education Administration and Management (Ε.Ο.Δ.Ε). and member of the initiative for educational reforms “PROPEDIA”. He has lectured at institutions such as Panteion University and the Pedagogy Institute and published research extensively.
Sophia Hiniadou Cambanis, Member
Sophia Hiniadou Cambanis is an attorney at law and cultural management advisor. She holds a BA in Law (Athens University), a DEA in Public Law (Paris II Pantheon-Assas University) and a MA in Economics of Culture, Policies and Management (University of Rome TorVergata). She served as Head of Cultural Affairs for the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic, special advisor on International and Cultural Affairs at the Ministries of Culture, Foreign Affairs, Development, Justice and Press and Mass Media. She has also served as Head of Cultural Affairs of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the EU (2014), responsible for Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of Greece in Rome (2010-2013), Representative of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture to Maghreb countries (2000-2005) and China (2005-2008), Executive coordinator of the Cultural Year of Greece in China (2007-2008) and board member of various cultural institutions. She has participated, planned and organised cultural and educational events, publications, international conferences and fora in cooperation with European and international institutions. She currently works at the Scientific Service of the Hellenic Parliament.
Oliana Faldami, Member
Oliana holds a Bachelor’s in Business from Athens University of Economics and Business, earned her MSc in Marketing & Strategy with distinction form Warwick Business School, and graduated from the Executive Education program of the Wharton Business School. Oliana is the founder of Studio Invent, an innovation consultancy that specializes in strategy and marketing and aims at future proofing organizations and driving positive change. At the same time, Oliana heads up the business operations in Klidarithmos Publications, one of the leading publishing houses in Greece. Prior to that, Oliana worked for Google UK for ten years, looking after the marketing strategy of products such as Youtube, AdWords, Search, Pixel, Chrome for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Vasiliki Besiou, Member
Vasiliki Besiou, born in 1983, studied Civil Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens and holds a Master of Science Degree in Water Resources Science and Technology. She has more than 10 years’ experience as a consultant engineer in big infrastructure projects specialized in mathematical modelling and data analsis along with decision-making techniques and integrated problem solving. She is a visioner of new technologies like IoT, AI and Big Data through the spectrum of Industry 4.0, focused the last years on the use of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and its integration with other cutting-edge technologies. She is currently running a company working in the fields of Regional and Sustainable Development, EU co-funded projects, Construction 4.0, Digital Transformation and Innovation Management.
Kostas Dimopoulos, Member
Dr Kostas Dimopoulos is Professor of School Policy in the Department of Social and Educational Policy at the University of Peloponnese. He also teaches Education Research Methods in the Hellenic Open University while in the period 2011-2012 he has served as Vice President of the Institute of Educational Policy. His current research interests concern the analysis of School Policies. He has written over one hundred articles and conference papers, as well as two books on these issues. His published work has been cited by hundreds of peers from forty eight different countries around the world.Finally, he has participated either as a member of the working group or as a coordinator – in sixteen national and nineteen European R&D projects while since 2008 he is a member of the International Evaluation Panel in the area of Education Studies of FCT supervised by the Portuguese Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
