The Report presented by the Committee of Wise Men on the Future of Social Protection and the Welfare State in the EU of which I was President in 2021-2022, has generated great interest from three consecutive Presidencies of the European Union. I am proud and happy about it.
I presented it to the Ministers responsible for the Belgian Presidency in March 2023, today it was presented to the corresponding Minister of Spain
José Luis Escrivá (the Spanish Presidency begins in June 2023) in the presence of all the Social Partners and Social Organizations of Spain, next week he will be presented in Stockholm at the Council of Ministers due to the Swedish Presidency, at the end of May in the European Parliament and he has already been presented to European social partners and institutions.
We will continue in September.
Something interesting for us too:
It is impressive that Spain achieved agreement on pension reform recently with the agreement on guidelines of all parties and all social partners.
Our Report’s guidelines are taken into account for reforms relating to childhood, young people and long-term care.
