“DIKTIO for Reform in Greece and Europe “, organized another working session with famous leaders with special guest Mrs Erkki Liikanen, the Central Banker of Finland.
Mr. Liikanen said that that recently established “trust” between Greece and the Eurozone members should be maintained. The Finnish central banker appeared cautiously optimistic about Eurozone’s growth, and said that Finland’s economic problems were due to the downturn of Nokia, the pressure in the paper industry, which is one of the main natural resources of his country, and also the recession of the Russian Economy, which is one of the main trading partners of Finland.
Mr. Liikanen defended ECB’s policy in recent years and noted that the promotion of the banking – financial consolidation and the establishment of an effective deposit guarantee to € 100,000 through a common deposit guarantee fund will be an important development in the attempt to stabilize Eurozone, but also essential in order to promote growth.
